#RunAndTalk
There has been much research into the positive effects of exercise on mental health and many of us have experienced the state of relaxation and happiness created by the so called ‘runner’s high’.
Whilst we are not – and do not pretend to be – mental health professionals, we do support each other to promote not only the physical benefits of running as part of a club, but the mental benefits too.
Like physical wellbeing, it is perfectly normal for your mental wellbeing to fluctuate. Likewise, it is normal to have off days, and most people sometimes find themselves feeling anxious, stressed and down. However, if ‘sometimes’ becomes ‘often’ you may begin to feel overwhelmed by it and then it’s time for you to reach out for some support.
In the first instance, why not contact one of our Mental Health Champions who will be happy to support you when needed?
Amanda Whitney
Mental Health Champion
As one of the club’s Mental Health Champions, Amanda is happy to be your first port of call if you’re struggling.
If she’s unable to help you herself, then she’ll be able to signpost you to a number of different agencies who will be happy to assist you.
